Question about Francestown and surrounding area
Hi,
We are going to be staying at a resort in Francestown starting Sunday for a few days. It will be me, my husband, and our 2.5 year old son. I was wondering what there is to do in the area? I was told about Friendly Farms and the town of Petersborough but I am wondering what else anyone would recommend in the are.
Thanks,
Amy
Re: Question about Francestown and surrounding area
There's a resort in Francestown? Learn something new every day (though I'm guessing it's near Crotched Mtn?).
Peterborough would be nice for shopping - antiques, crafts, bookstore.
I would go to dinner at the Hancock Inn in Hancock (next town over) for something fancy, but it might not be LO appropriate (unless you went to an early dinner).
Not sure what amenities will be at your resort, but Greenfield State Park is also nearby. We go camping there all the time, but you can go to the park on a day pass for swimming in the lake or renting a canoe. It has a nice beach area.
If you are into it, Harrisville is famous for it's knitting/weaving community, with shops and artists at a knitting mill/co-op.
That part of the state is a pretty quiet area.
