Thank you all so much for your kind words in my goodbye post.

I wrote my grandma a letter last night and when I went to visit her today I read it to her. She cried and laughed and cried some more. I think it was the closure I needed. I shared with her all the great memories I had and I told I hope that my children have the type of relationship with their grandparents as I did with her. I told her I didnt think of this as goodbye, but more as a "I'll see ya later."  I also told her that i hope she is reunited with the ones she has loved and had to say I'll see you later to.

She held my hand, told me thank you and told me she loved me and when I left the room I didnt say goodbye, I said I will catch ya later grandma. And said alright sweetie.

My mom read the letter and said it was the most beautiful letter, it even made my mom cry.

So thanks again, ladies,  for helping me thru today. I am glad I have such great listeners who offer such great advice.

Oh, Angi!  Your post made me cry!  I think you had a wonderful idea in writing a letter to your grandma, and I am sure it meant so much to her.  And I totally agree with you, it is more like a "see you later."  At least that is how I try to look at it too.  ((hugs))

I'm so glad you were able to write that letter for her and that she appreciated it and the thought as much as she sounds like she did!  Your mom too.   It sounds like you are doing alright now, and as much as this whole process stinks, it seems that you had a wonderful visit with her.  Reading this put a smile on my face because of what a great visit you had with her and that you've been able to find a way to heal and tell her what she means to you.
