**Melly**

Hey!  When in the heck did you get to be 38 weeks PG??  That was like the fastest pregnancy ever!!

Re: **Melly**

  • hey! I think it goes quicker when you have another child :) You no longer have time to sit in the nursery and wait for the child, you are running after the first one :)

By my calculations I'm 39 weeks tomorrow so I'm getting induced on 9/25 (40 weeks) because once again I'm carrying a large baby and measuring 3 weeks ahead. I did not want another induction but figure if I have to have a c section at 39 weeks after a long induction or 42 weeks for a 12 lb baby I'm going with the earlier date. Plus my doctor isn't an induction-happy guy (wouldn't induce any of my friends) so that makes me feel better about him recommending it again.

  • How big was Jackson?  Were there calculations correct?  Can't wait to hear birth story and see pictures of Ava!  I love that name by the way!!

I had Brady 20 days early and he was 7 lbs 5 oz!  he so would have been 10 pounds if I had gone full term.

  • He was 9 lbs 13 ounces. They did a growth U/S and it was right on at 38 weeks. They did another one the day I was induced (40 weeks 2 days measuring 43 weeks)and it said 10 lbs which was 3 ounces off :) He would not drop and they said based on the amount of vernix he was covered in he could have gone two more weeks. I'm not messing around with a child that big. :)

I have friends that were induced due to "large babies" only to have 7 and 8 pounders so most of the time the growth U/S's are wrong.

If Jax would have been 7 or 8 lbs I wouldn't get induced this time. But since they were right and my body tends to not want to let my kids out I think it is wise to get the induction.

  • Yea, go with the induction!

I really hope I don't get induced this time.  I was on bed rest too and that SUCKED!  They don't teach you in Lamaze class how to sit in the bed and take it.  I would have loved to have gotten up and moved around.  One can dream right?

  • NO bed rest for you and no induction for me :)

I also wish my hospital BF class wouldn't have made it sound like nursing was automatically going to work. I felt like a failure when I couldn't get Jax to latch after meeting with tons of lactation consultants.

  • it's a deal then.  No bed rest of me and no induction for you!  Better go for a long while while eating spicy food after having sex with DH.  LOL!  :)

Brady came a week before I could even take the BF class.  Neither of us knew what we were doing.  I'm shocked I lasted 5 weeks!
