Hershey Park. Anyone been?

My daughter and I are going to Hershey Park with another couple.  Just for the weekend.

Anyone been?

Anything that we just must do?

Re: Hershey Park. Anyone been?

  • I went to Hershey Park last year...its fun. You MUST do the Chocolate Tour @ Chocolate World, other than that just enjoy it! We didnt get to do/see everything
  • I've been tons and tons of times.  It's so much fun.  I recomend doing the Tour at Chocolate World, it's a lot of fun.  They have a 3D film for kids and an awesome store with all kinds of goodies, and oh yeah....CHOCOLATE!!!

The amusement park is fun as well, it's not to big (maybe a little bigger than Lake Compounce) but still a fun park.

If you get a chance check out the Hotel Hershey and the Spa, they have some great chocolate spa treatments.

Also depending on when you go the Giant Center on the other side of the parking lot is home to the Hershey Bears hockey team they're the AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals.  Or they may have a concert or other event at the center so you might want to check out what's going on there.

  • I'm in the minority, I didn't find it that impressive.  Chocolate World is kind of neat.

Thanks for the tips, Vikki.  We went to the amusement park the first day.  It was not real packed so the lines were not to bad for the rides.  My daughter went on a bunch of rollercoasters.  When she got off of Fahrenheit, she was actually dizzy.  That never happens.

I had read a bunch of reviews on other sites about the park.  They were correct.  Food and drinks were very expensive.  DD and I had 2 6inch Subway meals for lunch and it was $22.  The rides were run by High School kids and they did not enforce the "full car" rule on rides.  That really makes the lines so much longer when the cars are not full.

While we were waiting for her to go on a ride we were sitting at a table looking at a map.  A security guard, maybe in his late 50's, asked if we were lost and needed help finding something.  He was so nice.  He stayed and chatted with us for a bit.

The next day we went back for the Chocolate Tour and 3D show.  The shopping!  OMG!  Did we ever come back with chocolate!  It is the freshest chocolate we have ever eaten!  Everyone was so happy to see us.  Were they just looking for the chocolate!?!?

We had great weather.  Came back with a little color.

It was a nice weekend away.  I am glad we were invited to tag along with our friends!
