Cleaning Hardwood & Tile Floors?

How do you clean your wood and tile floors?  I must say, cleaning floors is probably my least favorite chore to do.  They NEVER look clean to me...even after I just clean them.  I hate using a mop so much that I usually just get on my hands and knees with a towel and spot clean.  But, I desperately need to do a really good deep clean on them.  I have the Pledge wood cleaner and tile cleaner that you just squirt and mop, but I don't feel like it cleans well enough.

Re: Cleaning Hardwood & Tile Floors?

  • On my tile, I just use hot water and pinesol. Nothing really fancy there. But with my wood floors, I use a small vaccum, I will sweep it with a microfiber cloth, and then I used a microfiber mop and Murphy's Oil Soap. It is also a squirt and mop type product, but I love it! It leaves the floors kind of shinny and smelling really good (to me). And I do notice that my mop picks up quite a bit of dirt and grime when I do that...so I think that the Murphy's really works well.

  • I hate cleaning floors.  Its my most hated chore!!!!!!  For my hardwoods I use hot water and vinegar and a sponge mop but I HATE it.  I can't find a good mop I like.  For my tile I use the same thing.  I try not to use alot of different cleaning products being pg.
