Dillard House accommodations?

Hey girls.....DH and I want to go to the mountains again for our anniv. in November, and this time we thought we'd try Dillard. Trip Advisor is telling me there isn't much there besides chains and the Dillard House. The reviews  for the DH are pretty mixed, and they seem to depend on whether you stay at the inn or one of the chalets/cottages.

So before I do more research (which I will) I'd like to hear from the Atlanta/ N GA people. Any experiences with the DH and which parts of it to look for/avoid, as well as info on any alternative accomodations near Dillard would be very much welcome.

Thank you :)

Re: Dillard House accommodations?

  • What part of the mountains is the Dillard House in? Have you looked into cabins?
  • Dillard is in the far NE corner of GA. I was looking for feedback from this board on the Dillard House resort because the TripAdvisor reviews were very mixed, but after I posted I found a few B&Bs outside of Dillard (that didn't come up on TAs search engine). IDK if DH would want to rent cabin. If any of you stayed at Dillard House I'd like your feedback. Phone post, no paragraphs, sorry.

  • The Dillard house is quaint. We stayed in one of the suites on site it was nice and clean with lots of pillows! Great for what you pay. I would recommend eating breakfast only there if you want to save $$. The rest is good but breakfast is the best. It is a nice little area not tons to do but there were a few festivals we found.
