**Joyann**

Hey there, I looked for you at the Co-op on Sunday.  Was hoping to introduce Leo and Gavin.

Did you go to the orientation last Thursday night?  Some how, they never told me about it so I had to go to a last minute crash course at 8:00 Sunday morning and then straight over to the Co-Op.

We won't be there the next two weekends as we are going on vacation, but hopefully that first weekend in October we'll meet up?  I still haven't seen the schedule with when I will be working, maybe we'll be on the same schedule?

Re: **Joyann**

  • i looked for you at the orientation! ?i should have paged you about it. ?i was at a bachelorette last weekend. ?my husband was in charge of getting leo there on sunday. ?unfortunately leo is still wanting two naps. ?so he missed the co-op. ?i just feel bad leaving him with someone when he is so cranky with no nap! ?but we will be there next week b/c i am volunteering that day.?

i will check the schedule to see if we overlap. ?i think you are a check in parent though (lucky!). ?

how did gavin like it? ?did you go to church or hang around? ?

  • was just curious what church do you 2 go to? ?my church has a co op too. and I see that you both are in my area.
  • Michelle, we go to Holy Family in So. Pas.

Joy: I barely know the difference between check-in and whatever else there is to volunteer for.  Guess I'll find out as time goes on.  I don't know how they forgot to tell me about the orientation.  I turned all of my paperwork in two weeks before the orientation and asked if there was some sort of meeting or introduction and the lady in the office told me it had already passed.

So, on Thursday night I had two friends that also go to Holy Family call and ask where I was....I was pretty peeved.  Especially since my company party was on Saturday night and I didn't get home until 1:00 am that night.  Getting up that morning to go to the orientation was brutal.

I ended up hanging around, DH went to Mass.  Since I didn't have a very clear understanding of how it worked, I wanted to stay and see how things went.  I stayed by Gavin's side for a little while and then I pretty much just leaned up against a wall and watched him from afar so I could see how he reacted.  Every once in a while he was get this "cry" look in his face and walk around saying "mama, mama"...so I'd show him I was there and then he'd go on playing.

They had a snack time and poured cheerios into little cups and they all sat at little tables and ate.  Gavin walked to other tables and took their cups and dumped them on the table.  I was embarassed...

The schedule that they gave me on Sunday didn't have me on there, so that must explain how I got left out of the loop.  So, they are supposed to redo the schedule and send it out but I haven't seen a new one since Sunday.  Have you?  If so, maybe I'm not on their email list yet.

  • Hey that is where we go, but we don't do the early mass, We take Jacob to the 5:30 pm youth mass. ?He really enjoys it. ?I thought about doing the co op, but decided against it. ?His preschool is also co op.

We got married, had our confirmations, and Jacob was baptized there.

What a small world. ?Maybe we'll run it to each other there.?

  • I'm pretty sure that Joy went to grade school at Holy Family, so she's been there a while too.

We are new members since 2005.  I actually am not Catholic, my husband is and we had our son baptized there.

We sometimes go to the youth mass, so I'll have to keep my eye out for you.  I wanted to do the co-op mostly because Gavin doesn't get a lot of interaction with groups of kids because we have a woman come to our home and watch him each day.  So, I thought this would be a good opportunity for him.

What preschool do you go to?  I REALLY need to start looking into them and get him on some waiting lists.

  • I actually went to Chandler but that is a little out of our price range! ?Many of my friends went to Holy Family. ?I am not Catholic either! ?How funny. ?i did go to Catholic high school though. ? My husband and his family are Catholic. ?We did the co-op to meet people, for the interaction and b/c we would like Leo to attend school there. ?

Don't worry Mindy - I am super behind on preschools as well! ?That is why this is so important to us.?

    ?

  • Joy, I heard each year there is something like 400 people trying to get their child into kindergarten and they only have like 22 spaces....yikes, huh?  My DH would like Gavin to go there also.  I'm on the fence.  But definitely want to meet some people and give Gavin an opportunity to mingle with some kids his age.
