Passport Renewal

For those of you who have already applied to have your passport renewed (not name change, mine is set to expire next year, so I am just doing a renew, not a name change) did you go in person or do mail?

Re: Passport Renewal

  • i did mail but i was nervous as heck sending in all the paperwork and my current passport!!! in the past 2 months we have had 2 HUGE things get lost in the mail. our large check to our wedding photographer, and a HUGE check to buy my car!!!! it was crazy! so we were really nervous, but we did it (actually went to the post office and put TRACKING on that mo-fo lol) and it got there on thursday :)

  • I did mine through the mail a few years ago.  It worked out alright!

Does anyone know if you have to pay to change your name on your passport?  I am so tempted to just wait and see if I ever even need it before it expires.

  • if you changed your name on your driver's license and social security card, then your passport is useless because that person doesn't exist anymore lol...to change your name on your passport you have to get a whole new one (or rather, "renew") and it costs $110. ugh. :(
