Recommend your EF deodorant

I currently use an anti-perspirant and obviously want to stop ASAP b/c of the chemicals.  I would smell and sweat for sure if I tried to only use a deodorant.

What EF deodorant works well for you?  I think I've heard of a deodorant on etsy that you have to use for a month before it really starts working-- what is it called?

Thanks!

Re: Recommend your EF deodorant

  • i just ordered soapwalla deodorant sold on etsy. it was recommended by the blog fig+sage. i am hoping it works. from the comments on the blog it is one of the best out there. we shall see.

  • GudonyaToo sent me a sample of her deodorant and I am a complete convert.  I'm not much of a sweater but after a long day of work I do get a bit stinky and her subtly scented deodorants do the trick for me!

I feel like I'm NEVER going to find one that works. I honestly think I've just stopped noticing my stinkiness! Embarrassed Tried everything from Crystal Rock (ew) to Burt's Bees for Men (ok) to Aubrey Organics stock spray (weird, hippy, christmas-tree-like B/O....)

For the PP, are these good for gym days? Do you notice any smell?

  • Lavanilla's The Healthy Deodorant

Cross my heart it works!  I've tried most of the deos already mentioned here & this is the only one that works for stinky sweaty me!

  • I'm currently using GudonyaToo deodorant from Etsy (in lavender scent).  It doesn't work as well as my old Secret, but I don't disgust myself by the end of the work day, so I'm not complaining.  Stick out tongue

My previous EF deodorant fails were Tom's of Maine (which was like not wearing any at all) and The Crystal (which worked, but not well).

Oh, one thing that worked previously was baking soda!  I would mix it with a few drops of tea tree and lavender oils, and then use a make-up brush to brush it on.  It worked wonderfully, but unfortunately I have really sensitive underarms and it started clogging my pores.

    Kiss My Face Liquid Rock

I use this and it works really well, but I think it does have aluminum in it.  The KMF active enzyme doesn't work as well as the liquid rock.  I think I am going to try Soapwalla.  The Gudonya doesn't seem to be very natual.  I think that it might have some synthetic fragrances in it, no?

  • I have been using Gudonya in the Mayan Gold scent.  I didn't need a month to get used to it - it just worked well off the bat.  The only down side I've found so far is that I have to remember to order online and can't just stop by WF and pick it up.

  • I use Jason Organics, but I don't think it is that EF. I've also tried Tom's of Maine with no success. I'll probably try something else when I run out...

  • Lavanila in the vanilla lavender scent is wonderful ($18, Sephora).

  • I use Tom's in the Apricot scent.  I do have to reapply once during the day on hot days but otherwise it works well for me.
  • Toms of Maine obviously hasn't worked for some PP but my sister LOVES it. I want to try it b/c my current deodorant makes my underarms terribly itchy. My sister says that it not only works but it also prevents 'armpit disease', you know - where your white shirts & tanks get a nasty yellow tinge to the underarm. We'll see! For a few bucks it's worth a try.
  • I just purchased GudonyaToo deodorant. I'll be sure to let you know how it works for me.
