I just got called in to do a group interview on friday for that p/t job at pier one. Anyone have any tips?
Re: group interview?
Know who you are! That way, no matter what they ask you, you wont be stumped.
I know that sounds silly, but it is easy to go over some basic interview questions and to think of how they relate to you at this time.
I hate group interviews too.
The most valuable piece of job interviewing advice I've ever been given is be prepared to tell the company what you can offer them. Also, research the company a little bit b/c interviewers like people who know about the company they're applying at.
Just go in there with your head held high and stay calm. Don't let them know that you're nervous! Go in there with as much confidence and poise as you can. Good luck!
i am confused... LOL...is it a panel interview (as in you will be interviewed by a number of individuals?) or is it a group interview (as in you will be one of many candidates being interviewed at the same time....i know places like old navy employ this type of interview)....
if it is a panel interview with many interviewers....then just be yourself (as other PP's have said) and make sure that you make eye contact with each of them depsite who asks you what questions, and keep everyone "into" what you are saying...
if you are in a group interview with a number of other candidates....don't be too pushy or come off as if you are fighting for attention...basically, employ the same technique you would in the panel interview....be yourself, stay relaxed and calm...and forget that the others are even in the room with you!
All I've ever been through for the most part is panel interviews. Just be yourself. Only on rare occasions have I had to do interviews one on one.
good luck.
Thanks everyone!!! That is all such great advice.
I'm actually doing a group interview
