Poll - Naps

Inspired by the weather today, and my strong desire for a nap.

1. If you nap, when do you do it (i.e. at work, after work, weekends only, while driving, etc)?

2. How long do you typically nap?

3. Where do you typically nap?

4. Are your naps typically planned for or does it just happen?

Re: Poll - Naps

  • 1. If you nap, when do you do it (i.e. at work, after work, weekends only, while driving, etc)? If I nap,  I do it on the weekends.

    2. How long do you typically nap? If I plan a nap, it's a 2 hour event. Which is why it hardly ever happens. I don't know what this 20 minute power nap crap is, it takes me at least that long to even fall asleep to begin with.

    3. Where do you typically nap? In bed. With the curtains drawn. And a quiet house.

    4. Are your naps typically planned for or does it just happen?  Planned, I never fall asleep accidentally or without good sleeping conditions (reclined, perfect temperature, little light). I'm a picky sleeper!
  • A big N/A for all of them. I'm not a napper at all. I use to be in college, but not so much anymore. DH is one though.
  • 1. If you nap, when do you do it (i.e. at work, after work, weekends only, while driving, etc)? I rarely nap but if it happens I am either off sick from work or it is the weekend.

    2. How long do you typically nap? 1-2 hours. Usually closer to 1.

    3. Where do you typically nap? Sometimes in bed, mostly on the sofa.

    4. Are your naps typically planned for or does it just happen?  Not planned. I love a good spontaneous nap. I just had one on the couch Sunday afternoon while DS slept and it was glorious!

  • I should start by saying I'm a professional napper.  I love naps!

    1. If you nap, when do you do it (i.e. at work, after work, weekends only, while driving, etc)? After work and definitely on weekends

    2. How long do you typically nap? After work is usually an hour or two.  Weekend naps are typically around 2 hours

    3. Where do you typically nap? in bed

    4. Are your naps typically planned for or does it just happen?  Just happen.  After work naps happen pretty rarely- only when I really need them.  Sometimes they just turn into bedtime- I've been known to go to bed at 6:30.  Weekend naps aren't necessarily planned but it is very rare when they don't happen.  DH tries to avoid them because he's "not a napper", but I think that is just a mental block you need to get beyond.  He usually ends up taking a nap with me most weekends.

  • 1. If you nap, when do you do it (i.e. at work, after work, weekends only, while driving, etc)? I do not nap at work, but sometimes at home after work, or on weekends or in the car if it is a long trip.

    2. How long do you typically nap? it really just depends, but it can be as short at 15-20 minutes.

    3. Where do you typically nap? The couch is my favorite place to nap

    4. Are your naps typically planned for or does it just happen? Typically just happens, but sometimes I will plan to take a nap when I get home from work. If I know Duke is playing the 9 pm game and I have work the next day I might try to nap so I do not miss too much sleep.

  • 1. If you nap, when do you do it (i.e. at work, after work, weekends only, while driving, etc)? Typically just on the weekends.

    2. How long do you typically nap? I really just like power naps, like 30 minutes. But sometimes I sleep for 2 hours.

    3. Where do you typically nap? On our couch or in the car.

    4. Are your naps typically planned for or does it just happen? Just happens. I'm not a good napper. I am grumpy when I wake up. So I try to avoid them if I can.

  • 1. If you nap, when do you do it (i.e. at work, after work, weekends only, while driving, etc)?  Typically on the weekends or if I'm REALLY not feeling well after work.  On any road trip where I'm not driving, I'll also nap.  I missed a lot of Italy because I couldn't stay awake as we drove from one city to the next.

    2. How long do you typically nap?  It completely depends on the scenario--I can "power nap" if necessary, but I prefer a nice 1-2 hour nappy.

    3. Where do you typically nap?  Yeah, I'm not picky.  DH thinks I'm borderline narcoleptic because I can pretty much sleep anywhere, anytime.  I'm a whore of sleeping usually.

    4. Are your naps typically planned for or does it just happen?  See above.  They can be planned or they can be spontaneous.  Don't be the one to make me wait somewhere or keep me up late--the next time you find me, I'll probably be sitting or laying somewhere asleep.  Thankfully, I usually wake up easily as soon as you call my name and maybe a poke to the arm.
  • I have never been a napper. I always felt like I was missing out on life, so I would never be able to fall a sleep during the day. However, working mad hours has changed that Big Smile
