Hospital Recommendations

Hi Ladies,

My husband and I just moved to St. Louis and we've begun the process of trying to find new doctors. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for which hospital networks we might want our doctors to be affiliated with, or had any opinions about the overall reputations of the area hospitals. We're living in University City and are hoping to find something that isn't too far of a drive.

Also if anyone has specific recommendations for an OB/GYN, that would be wonderful. I prefer a female doctor but am open to the possibility of seeing a male doctor if they were really wonderful.

Thanks!

Re: Hospital Recommendations

  • I moved here about a year ago and went through the same process!  I ultimately settled on an OB affiliated with St. Luke's Hospital off of 40 in Chesterfield.  I live in the U-City area too, and it takes me about 20 minutes to get there.  My OB is Dr. Beth Gearhart, and I absolutely love her and the hospital that I will be delivering at.
    Love my family!

  • I use St. Lukes as my primary hospital as well.  I delivered there and plan to deliver there for future children.  I see Dr. Janet Matusek and love her.  I had a  few issues directly after labor and she was fabulous.  Her practice is Women's Care Specialists and I love the doctors and nurses in the practice.

  • I would recommend St. Lukes or MOBAP.

My primary care is Dr. Jessica Smith in Florissant (off of 270). My husband and I both use her. She see's you same day if you are sick unlike some doc's that may make you wait a few days or a week to get in.

  • I used Dr. Super with Signature medical.  He is always so upbeat and friendly and has a way of calming my nerves.  Which is a good thing because I am so anxiety prone.  His office is off of 270 and gravois.  My sisters and my BFF go to him too.
