What did you think of Eat, Pray, Love?
To liven things up a bit..
I saw this poll in the "hot topics" on the Nest so I thought it might be interesting to see what S.Fl has to say about it. [Poll]
Re: What did you think of Eat, Pray, Love?
I liked the book- I didn't see it as whiny... I liked the self discovery of it.
I thought the movie was alright, but not super close to the book. In the book, she made a careful point to not crap talk her ex husband, but in the movie, they made him look like a total asshat.
also- I felt like the book was more of a "soul searching journey" but that the movie was more "sad lady gets divorced and runs away from her troubles"
I hated the book and the movie. But, I can respect what she went through in the book, although I agree with Vicky that it she was whiny and her personality drove me nuts. I just think that I am so opposite from her that I could not get into the book because of that.
I agree with Angie about the movie. I hated how they portrayed her husband, to the point where I feel bad for the real man. I also felt like they didn't make the movie emotional enough. I absolutely love Julia Roberts, but I didn't believe her at all whenever she was having an intense moment.
