Help me pack for HM ...

So we leave in 3 weeks and I am trying to start a list of things that I need to buy/bring, help me! We are going to Mexico and the only other time I have gone out of the country was with my parents and friend so if I forgot something I always had someone else to count on.

Here is what I have so far ...

Bandaids, Neosprin, Rolaids, Pepcid, Magazines/puzzle books, loofa, tooth brushes, tooth paste, sunblock, aloe ...

 What else do I need?????

PS / TMI - no BC needed for this trip ;-)

Re: Help me pack for HM ...

  • That's a good list - I can't think of anything right now that you might be missing.

The only thing that we didn't pack that we ended up having to buy on our HM was aloe.

  • I agree...I think you're good. That's most of what we took with us. (We went to Mexico too). Make sure you take plenty of sunblock....they charge outrageous prices down there for it, because they know you will pay it.

  • Don't forget the lingerie!

  • For Mexico, I would also suggest:

-Advil/Tylenol. It would be terrible to waste a HM day on a headache. Also good for the inflammation of a sunburn, should that happen.

-Depending on where you plan to go our exploring (if you do), there are some protected areas (snorkeling parks etc) that require biodegradable sunscreen. I have seen it at home for about $10 a bottle, down there it's about $18. May want to look for that- you can always use it even if you don't NEED it

-When we are staying at hotels, I always pack a few small snacky items for our room, so we don't have to go out of the room necessarily. I know many resorts have 24 hr snacks, but they often aren't that close to where you are, so I throw in a few granola bars, bag of cookies, peanuts, etc depending on length of stay.

I'll try to think of other things...

  • I have never been to Mexico but how is it there with misquitos?  If we forgot to bring Off, we would have been miserable on our Costa Rica honeymoon.

  • Ditto the bug spray. We packed it for Jamaica and didn't really need it, but it's one of those things that it's better to be safe than sorry...

  • bugspray is a must!

extra contacts if you wear them

snacks! (these were a lifesaver for between meals when we were hungry but didn't want to buy anything)

little packets of flavored drink stuff (no idea about their official title, but it was nice to have those to throw in some water when you are sick of drinking bottled water)

a sweat towel (a lifesaver! when you are out doing stuff, it was nice to having something to wipe your face off with and you didn't have to worry about losing it because it didn't belong to the hotel)
