DH and I TOTALLY went through our house and are getting rid of excess "stuff". We took an entire SUV load of household gear to a charity that helps people who have been displaced from their homes due to domestic violence get set up with new gear in new digs. We have 7 bags of clothes and linens that are getting picked up today by our Epilepsy Foundation. Bags have to be marked and on the curb by 7. DH goes home for lunch since he works insanely close to home and someone had stolen 3 of the bags! I don't care that much because I considered them property of the Foundation as soon as they went out the door but how desperate are you if you have to steal from a charity?! Sorta makes me feel crummy about the state of people's financials in my 'hood if they're that hard up.
