Does this make me weird?

Is it weird that I cannot wait until Saturday because I have an appointment to get my hair cut and highlighted? I went back to my natural all dark after having highlights for about two years. I did this right after the wedding because I missed my all dark hair, but now I miss my highlights! lol Does anyone else get excited when its time for a trip to the salon?

Re: Does this make me weird?

  • If you're weird, then call me a weirdo, too.  I LOVE getting my hair cut!!!!  I usually do the coloring at home though, but I got highlights put in for the wedding at the salon.  My stylist is AMAZING!  I've been going to see her since my second year in college (even though I was three hours away... I'd schedule my hair appointments for when I would be in town visiting my parents).  I'm definitely overdue for a haircut!!!

  • I need a cut and color bad, but I need to find a salon since we've moved. I hate having to find a new stylist. Not sure how much I trust reviews on yelp either...

I color and highlight my Mom's hair but I'm scared to death of doing my own. I know I would mess it up some how!

  • If I'm just doing all over color, I do it myself... If I want highlights, I go to my parents' house and get my mom to do that part.  It's just so freakin expensive at the salon I go to.  It's 50 bucks just for a regular haircut.

  • Geez! That is alot for just a cut. The salon I go to is just a small family place. The woman who owns it does everything unless her Dad is in from Florida and he'll do all the men's cuts for her. I only pay 45 for highlights and a cut.

  • omg i love going to get my hair cut!!!!!!!!!! I am due so bad for a cut too and highlights, mine are so grown out!!
  • I get my hair cut and colored religiously every 6 weeks. I get the family discount (my brother and his gf both do hair) which is nice but its still $95 for a cut/color.
  • You just reminded me that, yet again, I have forgotten to call and schedule a cut. I go to a lady who runs a salon out of her house, and she's only open certain days and hours a week. I can never remember what they are, and she doesn't like to be called about work at other times, so I'm always afraid to call when I think of it but don't have her business card with me!

I don't get my hair colored, so she charges me about $20 for a cut.

  • I look forward to getting my haircut for weeks before going (I also have to drive a ways to get a cut). I've been thinking about dying my hair a darker color, but I'm chicken because I know it would be difficult to get it back to my color now.
  • Love getting my hair cut now that I found someone that doesn't make me cry. I need to go there soon and get my hair cut.   I love this lady although I find it odd that her name is Pam. I just wish she didn't talk so much!
  • Ugh, talking about hair cuts makes me want to cry right now.  I chopped my hair all off right after the wedding, and while I loved it for about a month afterward, I'm really really depressed about it now.  It was SO long, halfway down my back, and it was really pretty, although I'm obviously biased, haha.  But I got tons of compliments on it when it was long, and I hate it the way it is now.  It is about collarbone length in front, and in the back it's a bit shorter.  I have just finished watching the first season of Pretty Little Liars, and all the girls have this gorgeous long hair, and I'm desperate to have that beautiful length again so I can curl it and look nice.  Right now I feel like the ONLY thing I can do is straighten it.  It's too short in the back to wear it in a ponytail, unless it's a really low ponytail which just looks stupid on me, and I can't curl it at this length either.  And because it's sort of an inverted bob, only longer, when I try to tousle it into natural waves it ends up looking ridiculous, even though it used to look really good when I did it like that when it was longer.

    AHHH hair crisis!

  • I love going to get my hair done!  I don't really cut it so much as trim it about an inch and clean up the layers.

I absolutely love my hairdresser and I've been going to her since my sophomore year in high school (so about 10 years).  She just changed salons and is doing a move over special for her clients.  One of the specials is a Brazilian Blowout for only $99! So I'm pretty excited about that!

I go back and forth between blonde (highlights) and dark brown (my natural color).  But even when I have highlights I only do a partial so the underside is still dark.  HH never seems to have an opinion when I ask him if I should change the color but lately he's been referencing my dark hair (I wanted it light for the wedding, so I put highlights back in in March).  So maybe I will have to go dark soon enough.

     We'll see.

  • im actually thinking of dying my hair back to its original color, which apparently i noticed a dark brown, it was never this dark when i was young. And I have had blonde highlights since I was about 15! So i don't even know what it would look like. I'm sooo tempted!
  • I tend to go 3-4 months between hair appointments so I'm always excited for weeks before I get it done.  I do at home color because it's too expensive to get it done at the salon and I usually have my mom do it which means it can be a few months between getting it done.  Before you go thinking I have horrible roots, I dye it my natural color, I just have some grays (at 29!!!) that I need to cover.  My mom is coming to visit and will be here Friday night so I'm excited to get my hair dyed...and to see her of course.

I do this to! I only get highlights on the top and keep the underside dark. HH loves it and was actually upset when I went all dark again. Needless to say he's really excited for me to have my highlights back this weekend lol.

  • I LOVE going to get my hair cut and colored. I go every 6 weeks and I normally get blonde highlights. I've had my hair all different colors, but I've been sticking with blonde highlights and a brown undertone. I'll probably go a little darker for the winter.

I also did the cut after the wedding and now, I'm regreting it. I'm now growing it at least to my shoulders.
