Hello ladies!
A friend of mine and I are hosting our friend's rather large bachelorette bash next Friday night (the 3rd) and we're doing a supper and then bar hopping down the Riverwalk.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to make this a little bit more - racey? I think it's super PG rated!
Also, we wanted to do tank tops that said 'Hot Bride in the City' to kind of keep us all together, but a few girls didn't want to do them; is there another way that we could designate us together? I haven't met a lot of the girls invited and am in charge of making sure no bachelorette is left behind!
Thanks!
Re: HUGE Bachelorette bash
What about wearing coordinating outfits? Like all wearing cowboy boots or little black dresses...with the bride-to-be wearing a hot color.
We made my girlfriend do the "dare-to-do" list; created a list of missions and tasks she needed to accomplish. My friend actually got the idea from The Knot, and it was so much fun to watch.
"Create and bring a list of missions for the bride to fulfill throughout the evening. A scavenger-hunt version requires the bride to score such items as a condom, five men's business cards, a pair of boxer shorts, and other loot. The dares list might include goofy -- but not completely humiliating -- acts such as serenading an unsuspecting stranger, dancing on a table, or crank-calling an ex-boyfriend." The Knot website
Does the bride like./want this sort of thing? It's not my style, and I know I'm not alone.
yeah, the bride really isn't into it, but moreover are her friends from out of town. I kind of get the 'too cool for school' wibe from them. So! I was trying to think of like big fake diamond rings or something like that.
For my bachelorette, I wore a champagne colored dress and my girlfriends wore little black dresses with hot pink accents. it was so much fun!
How about buttons? Or hot pink beaded necklaces/bracelets?
HTH.
We had boas at mine... which was fun since we rented a trolley in Chicago. Everyone had a purple one (since purple was my wedding color). Mine was white and gold. I think my BM ordered them online.
Also, in the past I've just brought beads, buttons, etc. for everyone to wear and penis straws for people to drink out of. Some people hate those but I think they are hilarious! (And it definitely lets everyone know you're with a bachelorette party!
Have you explained that to them? I think something like that, or similar, would be totally cute. Personally, I find all of the penis stuff tacky, tacky, tacky.
I did explain to them, but they wanted nothing to do with it. They also pitched a HUGE fit about even pitching in for the bride's drinks and supper. We asked for $60/pp so that we could rent a party bus ad do a tour of the city ... but, understandably so that they are traveling in for the wedding and stuff, refused to put in hardly any. It was a whole big mess, but now, we're compromising. The girls from in town are throwing down $60 - $100 dollars, so I'm sure we'll have plenty of money.
To be honest, the bride doesnt We were originally going to have a double decker party bus do a tour of the city, but the out-of-towners didnt want to contribute for it. They were willing to come, but not contribute to the party and we arent made out of money by any means! We've had several different parties (bachelorette, wedding, and baby showers) where we've all pitched in for our friend.
To each their own, I understand. We'll have a good time, we're not expecting it to be a late night....
