::I interrupt your peaceful nesting with a crazed, random, post::
"I want some CRACK!"
I can't stop. I've been mainlining HGTV online Rate My Space nursery ideas for a week now. I think it finally hit me that the train isn't going to stop so I better get a move on...
I've been flip flopping with ideas now for awhile. Everytime I start down the pink path it suddenly becomes Pepto out-of-control. And I couldn't find a bedding that I really, really loved until I stopped clicking on "girl" bedding. I remembered this bedding when I was looking for ideas for Alex. I loved it but at the time I was worried it was too girly because of the flowers. I've been flip flopping on whether the blue is too boyish for a girl this time around but I finally just said eff it and ordered it 5 minutes ago. I feel like I just took a huge dump. I feel so free, my sisters.
here's the bedding

Here's what I want to do with the walls (maybe do a very, very, very, very light pink stripe on the bottom rather than the ivory/khaki with a white chair rail)
http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Nurseries/Kadens-Nursery/detail.esi?oid=517769
All the furniture is white.
The upholstered chair and ottoman are "oyster", I'm guessing it's a cream color. And I'm thinking I'll add little pink touches through art, or the rug, or the decorations.
whewwwwww....
Why do I get so obsessed with things??
What do you think?
Here's the part where you tell me all my decisions are awesome so I don't start itching and picking at my skin again.
Re: officially OBSESSED with nursery ideas
I LOVE that bedding. I think some pink touches will be just the thing you need to girl it up a bit. I don't usually fall into BLUE IS FOR BOYS PINK IS FOR GIRLS but I agree that, while the fabric is girl-o-rama, it might need a little more girling up.
Girly. Girl. Girl. Pink. Girl. Pretty.
Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
I like that bedding! It's very calming. I consider it neutral much more than I consider it boyish. Do you feel you need to add the pink to girl it up? Because that's totally unnecessary. I think it'd look better without pink, but that might be my own bias talking.
Have you shared pictures of what Aelickx's room looks like in your new house?
ETA: Uh oh, looks like Moo and I are going to have to brawl.

I became obsessed with switch plates.
For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
I love, love, love the bedding. Holyshit now I'm looking through baby bedding.
Anyway, I don't think you need to do the pink on the walls, I think it would look good with the khaki/cream combo. Mabe a very very very pale pink rug?

I like! I like!
I don't think you need the pink to girl it up, but I like pink. I also think blue can be totally girly. I love blue rooms. So calming.

No, I haven't shared shiit because we haven't done ANYTHING upstairs yet.
We have grand plans of doing the nursery, the guest room, the guest bathroom, and Alex's room all before November. We figured, we can live in squalor in our room and beathroom for awhile...
But Cali, if I don't do pink how is anyone going to know she's a girl??
And when I say "we have grand plans" I mean "I have grand plans of making Pete paint everything"... We'll see how far that goes before he poops out.
Thank you for the feedback, peepers!
I can't wait till everything gets here so we can get started!
Whew, between a blue room and calling our potential daughter Charlie, I was thinking we were setting her up to play field hockey.

I *always* end up looking through baby bedding when someone posts one! I suck. I love this one: http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/sum/sumpop00-10.html
Hezz--Love it! I don't think it needs any pink, either. It's very fitting for a Lauren.

I love it all! I'm totally into blue rooms for girls.
I think that's how you wound up finding my bedding.

They'll know because she'll have a giant showgirl headdress on at all times. And tutus!

I don't know nothin' about all this baby girlie sh!t, but the search for the focal point of Alex's new bedroom decor stops here:

And then frame 3 or 5 of these and hang them in a row above the bed:

I love those colors together, Bethie. I looked at something similar for Alex but ended up with something with a blue background and circles.
I think I like blue.
I'm trying to do her whole room without spending a shat ton of money this time around. Her crib cost a sixth of what we paid for Alex (or should say, what his grandfather paid for his crib). And I've been absolutely scouring the internets for the best deals. I got the bedding for a $100 cheaper than all the other places that listed it - including ebay and amazon. Hopefully they come through!! Eeek! Same with the chair and the ottoman. I ended up buying them from two different places to get the bottom-est dollar price. I love saving money, man! The changing table I got from someone off of Craigslist - $40. And her dresser and side table are from her great grandparent's bedroom set that we're refinishing.
In my head it's starting to look awesome. I just hope my imagination delivers the goods.
Trista must have gotten into bedding design too. Ew.

I PLAYED FIELD HOCKEY.
We are painting Peabo's room blue this weekend so he becomes a verile heterosexual. Actually, I just wanted a blue room in the house. If we have another kid who's a girl, she'll just have to become a verile lesbian. Them's the breaks.
I wanted this one when it was on sale for $100 less... but Pete is fighting my vision.

He wants a ceiling fan in there. The room currently has a ceiling fan in there but it looks like it's hiding out from the 70's. He thinks it's fine. I think he's crazy.
Do it! I'm obessed with chandeliers in bedrooms.

I think I just found my future nursery bedding. I hope it's on sale by the time I'm ready to birth a babeh. http://www.maternityandbabyshoppingmart.com/sydneybabycribbeddingset.aspx

Maybe I should balance out karma and keep the ceiling fan to make her a lesbian. Then it will be like having one of each again.
I like that site, too!
I like the light. Very shabby chic and perfect for the bedding. Pete sucks.
I LOVE that one, CMC. I love the gray.

I love the bedding, Hezz!
we're going cutesy instead of chic. farm animals and various shades of brown. I think I was shopping while hungry . . . the furniture is "cinnamon," three walls are "toast" and 1 wall is "carmel brown." it looks like Mr. Hanky threw up in there and maybe had some light-skinned babies. But I'm filling the nursery with baby cows, pigs, sheep and the like to teach Pickle early that if he/she eats a burger, he/she will be eating one of his/her nursery friends. HA!
