So after five nights in the hospital, they diagnosed baby Jillian with epilepsy They've started her on meds and she hasn't had a seizure in 48 hours, so that's a good start. They told Danie that she may outgrow it, but for now they have to take it a day at a time. Thankfully it is not something more serious (like a brain tumor) but still very scary and a long road ahead of them. Thanks to everyone for your T&P!

Good to have a diagnosis.  I'll keep the T's and P's up for outgrowing the condition.  But thank God it's not worse.

Awwww poor thing.  Well at least they were able to pin point exactly what the problem was and that's great that the medication is helping. Hopefully things get better.  Poor thing...

My sister had childhood epilepsy and took meds until she was 13.  She never had another seizure after they got the meds regulated.  When she started her periods at 11, they began to REALLY slowly taper off the medication.  By 13, she was completely done.  She is bright, hugely talented musically, and the hardest working person I know.  Other than being spoiled...she's perfect.  It doesn't have to be a bad ending!

Definitely.  The daughter of one of my co-workers was diagnosed with it as a baby and has never had any issues (isn't on meds, either).  She just has to maintain awareness that it could reappear later in life.
