Where is a girl to go?

Suggest your hair, nail, spa and waxing places. Go!

Thank you!

Re: Where is a girl to go?

  • Is this for a wedding or just in general? I go to Patrick's Salon on the west side of town. It's across from the Lansing Mall in the little plaza by Target. I get my hair and waxing done there.

I don't get my nails done anymore and if I want a spa treatment (facial or massage), I go to Douglas J or Steven L Marvin in Holt.

  • Just in general... I'm new to the area so I'm always looking for suggestions basically about anything.

I use Patrick's as well. I have gotten massages, pedicures, and manicures. I don't do too much with my hair but if I needed something done I would go there as well.

Well then, welcome to the area and to the board! Feel free to join in and ask any questions you may have. We have been trying to have a GTG too, if you are looking to meet new people keep a lookout for that!

  • I like Mirabella in Okemos for hair.

For spa, you cannot beat the prices at the aveda institute in east lansing.  Its students that do the work but I'd never been disappointed in their spa.  They do hair their as well, and I know a lot of people rave about their hair salon but everytime I've had hair done, it has just taken way to long.  But I love their massages, facials, mani/pedis etc.

  • I have gone to Patrick's for manis, pedis, hair and massage. I don't have any complaint. I've only gone there once for hair, but now I have a friend who has a salon in her house that I go to. I like the way she does my hair better than any time I've been to Patrick's. I also agree with the other ladies about going to the Aveda salon in EL for the spa. I've been a few times and loved it. It's nice that its cheaper, too.
  • I mostly go to Douglas J aveda insitute.  They are students so they take longer....my last visit for highlights/cut.eyebrow wa was about 3.5 hours.  I fell asleep..LOL!  Their facials are a-ma-zing!  Pedicures, I think, are better than patricks (I think the lighting and spa music create a more relaxing ambiance).
