Gift idea for 1st anniversary??

Our first anniversary is two weeks away! I have no idea what to get my husband of 1 year! Help!

I know the traditional gift is 'paper' and I've read modern is a clock or something. My husband is a guy's guy and is not much of a gift reciever. He isn't really big into gift giving/receiving holidays or birthdays. I would love any ideas and I don't mind being crafty or creative!

I do the traditional gifts and I'm totally blanking on what I got DH for the first year. I know he got me a trip, but I forget what I got him...anyway, what about tickets to a show or concert he'd like?

My husband went to shutterfly.com and made me a picture book of pictures from our wedding and everything else that we have done in our first year of marriage. He also put the vows he wrote for me in it. It was PERFECT!

I bought my husband a book of art from Ansel Adams (his favorite).  If your H likes sports he might enjoy a book about one of his favorite player or team.

Why not a weekend away? You could wrap up a travel guide where you are going to go visit.  DH and I like getaways rather then presents.

DH loves old maps so I got one framed at art.com and it was a great hit.

Instead of exchanging gifts, H and I went to a day spa for lunch, couples massages, facials and pedicures. We had a blast.

I got MH one share of coke stock!  I think I got it form oneshare.com or something like that.  They have a bunch of different stocks.  He loved it!

I got DH a board game - he loves them - and the cards are paper.  I think tickets to something/somewhere are a great idea.

After about our 3rd anniv. we started buying joint gifts - something for the house (this year was an ice cream maker) or a fancy dinner out and excursion on a cruise.  It is a thought if you are stuck on individual gifts.

we are doing a trip to a bed and breakfast. my husband is not romantic. haha. i wish he was but sadly i come up with all the ideas.

DH and I got tickets to see a hockey game and then tickets for a Rockette's show the next night. It was the best weekend!

If he would like some kind of gadget/video/game, etc., you could wrap up the owner's manual for the "paper" part of the gift.  Coming up on our 1-year, too, so these are helpful!

I was having this same problem yesterday! ours is this coming Sunday and I just had not had any good ideas but then I decided to get a nice map from art.com to put on a wall. Since we're big travelers I figured I can buy some pins to mark where we've traveled together.

We ended up buying a house right before our first anniversary so our "paper" gift was the deed. But before that happened I was planning on writing him a love note and folding it into this kind of origami heart shape that I used to do in high school.

Depending on your budget, I heard someone get plane tickets.

I've made a silhouette of us dancing on our wedding day. Took some work, because I am not crafty, but it is a personal gift. And it's paper.
