Where do you find out about 5ks in the Raleigh area? Currently, I use Active.com and Young and Associates. Any other places I should check?
Re: Raleigh-area 5Ks
I just found the Raleigh Monster Dash 10 on Oct 31st! I want to do a "fun" race so I can be somewhat distracted through my run.
Although my running coach friend thinks I should be able to do one at the end of Sept
Maybe I should sign up for one so I have something to work towards.
I think there is a website runnc.com or .org that I reference sometimes.
I did the Monster Dash last year Elissa. It was really fun.
Would this one be a bad 5k for a beginner like me? I'm not able to run the entire thing. I'll probably stick to my running/walking intervals just so I can complete the 5k. Maybe by December I will be able to run an entire 5k.
I wouldn't think so. It was actually a really pretty run (I liked looking at the houses), but that hill was long. It was during the last mile too. If you're going to run/walk then you should be fine. Just take you time, you may surprise yourself.
It was funny b/c a friend and I were running together. I was waiting for her to say "ok, let's walk" and she was waiting on me. Neither one of us ever said anything until we were done, but we were glad that we didn't walk.
I'm doing the Hope's Hope 5K on 9/25... It's on the American Tobacco Trail. DH's aunt is one of the founders of the charity so we're pretty much required
Should be fun though!
