need info on sw florida

hi!

possibly moving to ft myers/naples area from the midwest.  any info would help on which cities around that area are best in terms of cost of living, safety, family friendly, good recreation, etc.  also, probably looking into renting 1st...any info on that too please :)  i've been trying to look online, but personal testimonies are always best!

thank you!

Re: need info on sw florida

  • Hi!  I'm a transplant from the Midwest as well, however I'm in SE FL...as are most of the ladies here.  The West Coast FL board may be a little bit more helpful in looking for good areas to live, etc.  Good luck!

  • Ditto pp to try the west coast board but from my personal experience (we were trying to move over there two years ago but it didn't work out), Naples is quite pricey, Bonita Springs is an older area but there are some nice places there.  Fort Myers has a lot of new developments for good prices.  That entire area is pretty quiet and family friendly although Naples has more of an older population.

If you need a realtor, the one that helped us was very good and not pushy.  PM me if you'd like her info.
