The next one I am getting is in a month or 2. I had a 2 - 3 year pattern and broke it lol now 6 years later I know what I want not sure where I want it and will let ya know when I get it. =)

It took me a long time to decide on each one, I knew I didnt want to regret any of them, and I dont.

  • I've got one on my right foot. I had 5 friends killed in 2 different car accidents when I was in high school so I got the tattoo in memory of them.

  • I have one, on my left shoulder blade.  I don't have a pic of it.  I tried to take one once but I almost sprained my wrist trying to do it.  :o)

It's a bright, abstract sun.  My old BFF knew I wanted a sun of some kind and she got the idea off of a candle holder we had when we lived together.

Honestly, I forget it's there most of the time.  LOL.

WAIT!  I do have some pics...since I didn't cover it on wedding day.  See below.

  • i have a dove on my hip (no pics). it carries various meanings and like a lot of the girls i waited a long time to get it and knew it's what i wanted.

i forget it's there most of the time, like knibs mentioned, even though it's on my "front."

  • Mine wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm dying to get another one. When my sister gets her week off before she's deployed, we'll probably get some more ink.

  • Where I got mine, it wasn't that painful.  I sat there sucking on a Chupa Chup sucker and commenting on how it looked like a Fisher Price little people head.  LOL.

It was more annoying than anything.  But it all depends on where you get it.  I wouldn't mind having another one, but I am so picky about the ink and where it might go.  I refuse to have one that cannot be covered if needed.  On my shoulder, unless I am wearing a tank top, no one ever sees it.  And I prefer that due to companies having strict policies about visible ink.

The kids mom?  They ALL SHOW.  All over her neck and hands.  But she calls them "delicate".  Dude, there is nothing delicate about a needle going into your skin over and over again.  Not to mention, she cannot get a job in an office setting.

Plus, you have to strategically place them to where gravity doesn't play with it later.  Get a Tweety Bird on your boob area and years later you get Big Bird.

  • lolerskares @ bigbird. hahahahahaha ohh man. true!

granted you can always go back later in life and get it "corrected," but really you want to find someplace that wont expland TOO much. where i got it done on my hip it was really on my hip bone- not towards the center.

it hurt... but, not in the way you think it would. it was way more annoying than painful- unless he hit a nerve. like when it was right on the hip i could feel my foot vibrating and it was weird/gross.

and ditto the cover up. depending on where you work and where you WANT to work you'll have to get used to wearing a certain kind of shoe/pant/shirt.

  • I have 8 tattoos!  I love every one of them regardless of what people may think of me or how they look at me.  I have pics of a few of them but not all.  In the order that I got them they are as follows:  a 1/2 sun 1/2 moon on my right hip, 5 stars on top of my left foot, a star with some firey wingly looking things behind it on my left wrist, a nautical star with a horseshoe and dice on the back of my right calf, a pair of shears (the ones used for cutting hair...I am/was a hair stylist) on the inside of my left ankle, the medical symbol on the inside of my right ankle (for nursing), a sacred heart with roses on both sides on my lower back and an old school pin up girl in a martini glass going down my right side.

Sorry couldn't figure out how to upload so links to some pics are posted.

  • I have none..... yet. I promised my sister before I turned 18 that I'd wait 2 years before I got a tattoo (which was a good idea because before my 19th b'day I had 10 new piercings LOL) and I ended up waiting..... longer than that. ha.

I want the Giving Tree on my side- huge- but I'm afraid to get it b/c I want to have kids eventually, and I don't want it to get huge. I'm not a big girl so a baby belly's got to pull skin from somewhere......... dammit.

I want a foot and back of the neck piece too, but keep putting it off. I like to spend my money on my house, not my skin. (but my friend just opened his own tattoo shop so I think the time is nearing... sooner or later he's going to chain me to his chair until I'm inked hahaha)

  • I have one, I got it when I was 18  - I've always wanted another but I've held off, probably won't get another to be honest.  I don't have any pics though, lo ciento

I know I've told this story before...

I really wanted to get a tattoo in college.  Had things all figured out... then a good friend got a very cool sun around her belly button.  Then, Boom!  Pregnant within a month.  After she had her baby it looked like a Salvador Dali painting.  It scared me, so I never went through with any tattoo plans.  Now I'm over it.

So, if you get a tat, listen to Knibs and be very strategic about it's placement :)

  • I have a pink rose on my pelvic. Coloring it in hurt the most. I like it. Got it when I was 18.
