craigslist?

Those of you who sell on CL do you meet people some where or do you allow them to come to your home.  I have some Hween costumes and other items I would like to list.  I'm thinking for bigger items there is no way of getting around having them come to your home, but wasn't sure about kid items.

Re: craigslist?

  • If its small enough I send it with my mom to her office and let them pick it up there. If its something bigger and they have to come to the house, I make sure there is 2 or 3 people there with me.

  • For smaller stuff I would just have them meet me somewhere, for big stuff I would have them meet me at the house but only if dh was there
  • DH goes to meet people somewhere - usually a big parking lot.  We do this with both small and larger stuff.  We'd never want someone coming to the house.  DH also uses a fake name sometimes, lol.

I would meet them with the smaller stuff.  We have had a person come to our house buy a stove and didn't have any trouble.  I have also been to people's houses.  I've even set it up where I bought stuff off craigslist and had them mail to me (a stroller & invisible fence unit).  I was extra careful and talked to them a few times on the phone and the one girl I googled (glad she didn't use a fake name) and found out she was pretty high up at a company, so that made me feel better about sending her a large check.
