The things I learn through Facebook...

freaking amaze me.

Last year I found out my cousin had gotten married through FB.  Most of my family didn't even know he had a girlfriend.  Last week I found out on FB that his wife is pregnant.  My mom, and the rest of my family, had no idea.  Definitely giving the side eye.

Do any of y'all find out things like this on FB, or is it just me?

Re: The things I learn through Facebook...

  • Ha! What IS it with your family and facebook?

I'm trying to think about finding things out on facebook....I do have a cousin who went from single to in a relationship to engaged to nothing in about a week. So that's a little bit special.  ;)

  • I found out one of cousins had gotten married/was pregnant over FB. We had just about two weeks prior at the beach (with her boyfriend at the time). Then found out they went to the courthouse because she had gotten pregnant... Crazy what kinds of things you learn on FB!!

That's a damn good question! lol I think the main problem is that 80% of my family is just crazy.
Btw, I did end up hiding my status updates and pics from my grandma so things have improved in that aspect Smile
  • I have very few family on facebook. Luckily, most of my relatives are quite old and don't book. I've never looked up some of the younger ones.

H has a few, and I have a few on there, but only about one of them ever comments or seems to pay attention to anything.

I don't think I pay enough attention to the fb statuses or anything to notice anything out of the ordinary.

  • I agree. Sometimes people post things on facebook that I find to be a bit too revealing. It takes the intimacy out of everything...

  • Most of my family lives on either coast, so I don't find out about anything until they post it on FB. Mostly, it's about babies - one of my cousins just had her sixth baby (the only girl she's had out of her six kids), and I had NO idea she had that many kids. Oh the things you learn on FB.
