Cool things to do in area - making a bucket/101 in 1001 list
I'm putting together a 'bucket list' for my 30th bday as I just feel like I'm getting so busy that life is passing me by. I'm looking for some cook things to do within a two hour or so drive of Harrisburg to out on it....free reign as to price and experience.
Thanks!
Re: Cool things to do in area - making a bucket/101 in 1001 list
I know some of these are obvious, but I always miss the obvious when I am making a list. If I think of any more I'll come back and add to the list.
ETA: The next blocked out D!ck -- here is the link for the park I was referring to http://parkatgovernordick.org/dnn/
My mom is doing something similar but she isn't calling it a bucket list because she thinks it means you will die after, haha. She is calling it "50 in 50". She is doing 50 things to celebrate her 50th birthday.
Some of hers are:
1. fly on a plane
2. go on a cruise
3. go gokarting
4. go kayaking
5. learn to do something on her quilt (not sure what... she quilts, but there is something she doesn't want to learn so I forget what it is)
I can ask her what else is on her list when she calls. She was considering bungee jumping and then she heard a scary story and took it off her list, haha.
Other ideas I have:
1. learn a new language
2. learn an instrument
3. take a cooking class
4. take an art class of some sort (beading, pottery, etc)
5. go camping (i'm a camper so it wouldn't be on my list, but it is a good idea)
6. run a 5K (check out the couch 2 5K program if you aren't a runner)
7. get a massage at Hershey Spa
Eat an ice cream cone from Berkey Creamery (the famous PSU creamery), attend a PSU football game, hike PA Grand Canyon in Wellsboro (that's closer to 3 hours away), hike Bushkill Falls (the Niagara of PA), take a ride on the Strasburg Railroad, tour the Herr's factory, tour the Crayola factory...lots of possibilities!
Also, I second some sort of spa treatment at the Hershey Spa
We just moved here, so I don't have much to offer, but somethings I have been wanting to do....
Join a CSA
Tour Amish Country
Tour Hershey Gardens or Enjoy a Friday night on the Veranda of the hotel for free jazz
We just went to Annapolis this weekend & it was an easy drive and a really beautiful/fun place!
