Veggie Gardeners - Seeds

I am looking for turnip seeds. Burpee's trunips and collard greens are out of stock. Where are you getting your seeds for fall veggie planting. I was planning on ordering today so that I can direct sow my seeds next weekend.

Re: Veggie Gardeners - Seeds

  • I've been very satisfied with my seeds from Seed Savers.  Excellent results with them.

Which reminds me, I need to order my garlic....

  • I order my fall seeds in spring because otherwise I run into what you've found: what I want is out of stock!

  • I wasn't able to find seeds past the end of June locally. I learned my lesson LOL

Next year, I'll buy my spring, summer, and fall seeds in early spring and be done with it :)

  • I just bought a bunch on cherrygal.com using the 50 for $50 deal, but I don't remember any collard greens or turnips. There were some very cool fall plants though.

    And another recommendation for seedsavers.org

Ack! Next time I will plan earlier. I already have broccoli, spinach and carrots. I just need turnips and romaine lettuce seeds. I found some other place online - Reimer Seeds. Never heard of them, so I'm going to check the Dave's Garden site to see if there is a review or not.

ETA: Won't be ordering from them. The Garden Watchdog responses about the company weren't very good. Poor germination rates, bad customer service. Ho hum.
