Not sure what to do...

I wrote a post about this last week, but I find myself in a new debacle.  I had a phone interview a few weeks ago with 2 women for a job.  I hadn't heard anything so I emailed Woman A and asked her what was going on with the position and she emailed me back saying there were away at a convention, but they would love to speak to  when they get back and to email Woman B to confirm for a meeting date.  She even mentioned a date that she would want to meet.  Without hesitation, I emailed Woman B to confirm the date.  At this point, I haven't heard anything. I figured maybe she hasn't checked her email while there were away, no big deal. Knowing that they were going to be back in the office today, I left a VM for Woman B for her to get when she comes in today.  Well, no email and no call....I'm starting to panic...I'm thinking wait it out and maybe call her tomorrow AM....?

Re: Not sure what to do...

  • If they have been out of the office for a little bit, they are probably catching up on everything else. If you already left a voicemail and an email, I would wait and let them call. To me, calling again in the morning is a bit pushy. Wait a day and see what happens.  Then, if still nothing, maybe call Woman A and tell her that you had trouble getting in touch with Woman B to confirm the meeting.

I've got more issues than a magazine
  • I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you are not their top priority right now.  If they were away at a convention, and obviously only periodically checking their email, my first assumption is they need to catch up on work.  I wouldn't have left a message on the day they were scheduled to return.

Wait it out til the end of the week, and if they still haven't contacted you, then I'd send Woman A another email saying what the PP suggested.

  • Thanks for the suggestions.  It turns that Woman B hasn't been back in the office yet, which makes sense for why I didn't hear anything.  I was told by the receptionist on Monday that she would be back in the office yesterday, which is why I thought that.  I did contact Woman A and she told me that Woman B will be back in the office tomorrow..Just have to wait.
