My First BB!

I just placed my first order!  I can't believe I'm this excited for fruits and veggies.  :)  I didn't get the Asian Pack but I did get the Mangoes.  I LOVE Mangoes!  And the bread.

Anyone else use the Kachina School in Glendale as their pick-up?  Also has anyone volunteered before?  I'd love to volunteer but I'm not sure what it entails.

  • YAY!!!! i am so excited for you, I know that Sommer has volunteered in Surprise =)

  • Yah Jaye!

I've volunteered before and it's SO worth it.  You basically just show up at the time listed for volunteers at your site.  Once the truck has dropped off all the boxes, the site coordinator will let everyone know what to do and you just fill the baskets.  It's really easy, and you get extras!

We haven't volunteered lately because it's just too hot for me to want to do manual labour outside :)  But I love that the program is run by volunteers - so I definitely plan to help out more in the future.

  • Is volunteering really physical?  I only have one working arm.  I want to help out but I also don't want to get in the way or be a pain.
  • How fun!  I just started this too a few wks ago & got the mangoes last wk.  We're actually cutting them up & baking w/them today.  Yum!  Hope you enjoy it like we have!

it isnt too physical imo. it mainly invovles lifting not so heavy boxes of fruit/veggies, counting said f/v and placing them in the baskets. hth.
