recommend your e-book

I'm thinking to get amazon kindle for my birthday, is it a good choice?

Re: recommend your e-book

  •  I have the Kindle2 which I love and would highly recommend.

The K3 is out now and down to 139$.

    Enjoy!

    Hope is not a strategy.
  • I have an iPad, because I wasn't sold on the idea of buying an e-reader (DH wanted me to).  It's a bit heavier, but it's still lighter than a thick hardcover, and I appreciate that I don't have to carry around multiple devices (i.e. an e-reader and a netbook).

Check out the Nest Book Club board.  There's a sticky post at the top with links to lots of Nesties' opinions on the different e-readers.

  • I definitely love my Kindle 2 and my aunt just got the new Kindle 3 and says it's great. I also have a friend who loves her Nook from Barnes and Noble because she can get free books through her library. These days I think you'll be happy with any of theses choices and no matter what you get, there's always going to be something "better" later because of swift technology advancement. I would stay away from the new Borders simply because they are new as well. Let them work out the kinks.

Personally I'm against the iPad is because it's still a computer screen and I can't read off computer screens for long periods of time. I get a headache after about an hour and I like to read for much longer than that when I have free time. The above devices still look like pages from a book.

You just really have to do your research and weigh the pros and cons of each device.
