Would you believe, I am still dealing with name changes??? Since I knew we were moving this summer, I held off on changing my name on my driver license (and drove very carefully for the duration, lol). So I finally made it to the DMV (or MVC here in Jersey) and made the switch! Somehow this seems like the real deal, like I wasn't really officially married or officially had a name change til it showed up on a photo ID. Anyone else feel that way? So I've been in limbo for four months... not anymore!
The lady at the counter had to do it over because she first put my middle name initial instead of my maiden name initial (I'm doing First Maiden NewLast, instead of First Middle NewLast). Seems like I run into a lot of problems with that. No one gets that I didn't "keep" my middle name. I thought it was pretty common to take your maiden name as a middle name, but so many times folks have assumed I only changed my last name.
Anyway, just thought I'd share!

Re: Finally...it's official!
Yay that's awesome!
It does feel more official when you see your married name on legal documents!!

Yay!
I've gotten everything done except my driver's licence which I will be getting done tomorrow since I have taken the afternoon off.
Thanks gals! It does feel great and was a long time coming! Though a nice benefit of having waited is it seems my new signature has solidified, so it looks good on the license (I botched it terribly on my social security card).
I still have to do my passport, but that can wait.
Stacy, do you have a passport? You can use that, if it's got your maiden name still, for flying and get your driver license changed anyway.
