Since football season is upon us and many of us will be tailgating in the coming weeks...let's have a poll about it.
1. What is your favorite tailgate food?
2. What is your favorite tailgating game?
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating?
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual?
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience.
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating.
Re: Tailgating poll
1. What is your favorite tailgate food? Food? We usually just drink! umm, chili I guess.
2. What is your favorite tailgating game? We have played cornhole for 10 years consistently, everything else comes and goes.
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating? Depends on when the game is. Noon game: jaeger bombs to wake up. Evening game: jaeger bombs to wake up. hehe Oh, and beer!
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual? It takes 20 minutes to get apropriately WVUd out, then drinking, sometimes eating, sing Country Roads, and chant Eat Sh!t Pitt (no matter who we are playing) on the way to the stadium with 40,000 other people.
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience. Tailgating at WVU, everyone is your friend. It is amazing the people you meet who wander around before game time. We have met former star players, Congressmen, the Governor and all the big wigs that have business in the state. They politic in the parking lots and meet & greet as many people as possible. Okay that was tame...want a funny story?
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating. I will never forget being a freshman walking to my very first tailgate and having a cop stop me outside The Pit. He checked my student id, not license and handed me a cup to go get beer. Amazing! He didn't care how old I was, just that I was a student. Tailgating can be crazy.
1. What is your favorite tailgate food? hot dogs and jello shots
2. What is your favorite tailgating game? We don't play games after I got wasted playing flip cup with some Gators at a GA/FL game
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating? Usually jack and coke since beer makes me pee too much LOL
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual? Nope
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience. We always have the most fun at GA/FL games
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating.Nicest people ever in Stillwater, OK (OSU)
1. What is your favorite tailgate food? grilled fajitas or breakfast tailgates
2. What is your favorite tailgating game? I never play any
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating? usually wine, but the few cooler games we actually have here, I like to sip on some spiked hot cocoa
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual? Just the typical Auburn stuff--Tiger Walk, band at the 4 corners, that type of thing..
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience. Um..?
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating. Honestly, I'm not really a fan..it is so much work and even though we tailgate right next to my husband's building, it is still a pain to have to go inside to use the bathroom. I'd rather go to a restaurant near campus and hang out and eat before the game.
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
Flamingmu, I love every single one of your answers. We would have a blast tailgating together.
. What is your favorite tailgate food? Chips and dip.
2. What is your favorite tailgating game? Horse balls...hillibillie golf, whatever you call it. This summer we made Mizzou themed washers, horse balls, and cornhole. I am pretty excited about them.
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating? Bloody mary in the mornings. Vodka and sprite or vodka red bull for not morning games.
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual? Not really a ritual, but a prefected routine. It has taken a few years to iron on the kinks. We now have our Saturday routine to a science. There are pregame rituals that the university does...marching band walks in, etc. etc.
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience. Last year, I peed my pants a little during a tailgate. This is hilarious and embarassing at the same time...so I don't mind sharing.
I had been drinking and needed to go to the bathroom. I always wait until the last minute because I had making the trip to the bathroom, standing in line, etc. Well this time I waited too long. PLUS, I wore a belt (which I never wear)...so I didn't take into account the extra time to get the belt off. It was a full out pee my pants, but I wet them a little.
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating. I love to tailgate.
1. What is your favorite tailgate food?
Chips and dips... we always have several different kinds.
2. What is your favorite tailgating game?
My grandpa made us a washers set, but it's a little different than most. We have a lot of fun with that. Although, last year we set up a "water pong" table (there were lots of kids and oldies playing) and had a freakin' blast.
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating?
Bud Lights, please. Especially if they're in the orange cans!
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual?
The Walk... and the pre-game pep rally.
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience.
My aunt, cousins, and I did a beer bong at a house across the street from where we tailgate. It's a HUGE one. It's a 2 story house and the top of the bong hangs out the 2nd story window. The funnel part has 4 tubes coming off of it... basically a 4 person bong. Fun times.
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating.
It's fun. And, I love it. And, if you're ever at an Oklahoma State game and want to join, PM me!
I've heard this time and time again, and it makes me so proud! We love just about everyone!
Thanks. When you come from a sports phanatical (yes, I know I spelled it wrong) family and go to a huge sports school you tend to go all out. We tend to look a little ridiculous when we go to watch games in public; luckily there is an alumni bar not too far away.
Love your #5. I have done the cutting it too close thing before. I hate having to pee so much from all the drinking. It sucks now that I know I should drink water between beers (Thanks H&F board) so I pee twice as much as I used to. When we tailgate now, we get as close to the porta potties as possible so we don't have to leave the tailgate.
1. What is your favorite tailgate food? Taco soup for the cold days; good 'ol buffalo wings otherwise. My mom makes the BEST wing sauce.
2. What is your favorite tailgating game? Homecoming. It's insanely fun. I'm sure Bedlam's fun when it's on our campus, but I never go to Bedlam.
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating? My dad's lemonade. I'm not a big beer fan, but I'll drink a Bud with lime in it.
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual? Not really. Just eat, drink and be merry.
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience. I don't really have one...we honestly don't tailgate that often (and didn't tailgate at all last season since DS was still a baby and had health issues). I think I'm one of the few people on campus that doesn't tailgate on a weekly basis. :P
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating. One of the girls that just started working with me is from Washington and is fascinated that our tailgating is so hardcore. I'm amused - because this is nothing compared to other parts of the country.
1. What is your favorite tailgate food? Nebraska is famous for Runzas and Valentino's Pizza, but that's technically "game" food. For tailgating pass me a burger!
2. What is your favorite tailgating game? I dig washers!
3. What is your drink of choice while tailgating? UV and Red Bull. I'm trying to like Red Beer. not so much a beer fan so it's usually mostly tomato juice and a minimal amount of beer.
4. Do you have any sort of tailgating or pregame ritual? We're not huge tailgaters, so typically we are barflies. Sidetrack Tavern in Lincoln is our bar of choice. My dad has been a regular there for about a million years and will wait in line at 6am to be sure he has a table right up front! They have a band that sings dirty songs and make up songs about Huskers (i.e. Hey Mackovicka (instead of the Macarena) and Screw the Sooners instead of Boomer Sooner.) It's good times.
5. Share a funny, cool, whatever story about a tailgating experience. I think one of my favorite tailgating experiences was tailgating in South Bend for the Nebraska/Notre Dame game in 2001. Domers know how to party!
I've also had an awesome time tailgating at the Rose Bowl and with Texas A&M fans.
6. Anything else you want to share about tailgating. My brother got a new truck this year so we're going all out. Awning, satellite dish, flat screen, generator, etc. The works. We're going to do it up right!
I just may take you up on this!! My mom, dad, husband and I will be in Stillwater for the Pokes/Huskers game this year.
Love it!! All the DIY stuff is GREAT! We are slowly getting into more DIy tailgating items. We have a giant white cooler that we call a casket. A shopping cart cooler sounds like a WAY better idea. Do you have pics??
You certainly should! We have a nice "little" crowd (about 20-30) of family and friends and we always have a blast! We're in the perfect spot for people watching, 30 seconds from 3 different bars and Eskimo Joe's! And, we welcome everyone!
