Thoughts on the new Apple products?

What do you think?

What are you most/least excited about?

Re: Thoughts on the new Apple products?

  • I'm so glad they put the buttons back on the Shuffle!  I hated the last shuffle and was worried that if I bought a new mini music player, I'd have to go find a used Shuffle so I could have the buttons.

I think the new Nano is kind of cool from a tech perspective, but I've never really understood the marketing appeal of the Nano anyway.  While I appreciate having a display on my music player, I'm good with a little digital read-out like the one they had on the MobiBlu way back when.  I've never felt the need for full-color multimedia on a music player.  But that's just me.

DH is generally very enthusiastic about the new Apple TV, but I think I still prefer using the Mac Mini to drive our media center.

And I love it that they took the CD out of the iTunes icon, since digital music sales are surpassing CDs!  I think that's amusing.

  • OoOoOOOoo, I've been slacking on my Engadget lately, but I think the new nano looks awesome.  Perhaps I will get my H one for Christmas.  He's expressed interest in running, and I've got a Nike+, so I think that would be good.  I haven't gotten to Apple TV part yet....

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

  • I'm most excited about the Nano, just because I have an older one and would love to ditch the armband at the gym.

The AppleTV is small and all, but in terms of functionality it took a step back for us. We have a Mac Mini driving our media center right now, and we much prefer the flexibility of purchase content rather than renting, of having a hard connection to our media rather than streaming, etc.

  • I'm both excited and angry. It seems like every time I "break down" to get a new Apple product they immediately come out with something better that I can't afford because I JUST got the previous version.

I love the new Nano because I'm such a huge fan of the touch screen technology that the dial just wasn't cutting it for me anymore. I also love that they put buttons back on the shuffle even though I JUST bought the one without a month ago. Even more so, I'm ready for a new iTouch now that they've added video! I still have a 1st generation one that works perfectly fine but I REALLY want this with the new features as I am not an iPhone/AT&T user and really have no urge to change that. haha!

Overall, I'm pleased... just sad I can't afford them all to play with them. lol
