Vacation Offer

I wanted to post this sooner but thing have just been so crazy that I haven't even been been keeping up with everyone else's posts very well. Anyway, now I have a few free moments and wanted to share something exciting...

A few weeks ago DH and I received a really random phone call. Apparently, we were 1 or 50 couples to be selected by Hilton Head Guest Services to be offered a 4-day 3-night vacation that we can use anytime within the next 18 months for an amazing price. The only catch is that while we are down there we have to do a timeshare tour which we are completely ok with because DH and I would love to have a timeshare on the island. We just love it down there. So of course DH and I jumped on the chance to go and after bouncing a few dates around...we will be making the 12-hour drive on March 28 (two days after my birthday and a month before DH's birthday) to spend a little time on the beach. We are very excited.

If anyone is familiar with the Hilton Head area or Savannah area and has any suggestions on some things we should do please send them our way. We were there for our honeymoon and checked out a few things but not many.

  • I spent a little time in Savannah for a work trip a few years back.  We took a tour of the "haunted" colonial jail and I will admit to being scared out of my wits!  Partly to blame was the lighting and thunder outside though!  :-P  Mostly, a buddy of mine and I just walked aimlessly and admired the architecture and little hidden gardens throughout the old city.  Beautiful spot!
  • We took a day trip to Savannah a couple of years ago when we were in Atlanta for a few days.  We were there for a day, spent the night, then went back to Atlanta the next day.  Honestly, I wasn't too impressed.  It was really pretty, but after you see it, we were like "ok, what now?"  We don't even like seafood, so it was kind of a waste for us.

My boss used to live there and she recommended a pizza place.  I just googled some pizza places in Savannah and I think it was Vinnie Van GoGo's.  You'd think I'd remember a name like that, but I'm only about 80% sure. :)  I hope you find something awesome though.

  • Savannah is nice, but yeah, one day is all you need. Charleston is only a couple hours up the coast, and it's beautiful drive.
  • Sorry I'm late.  I LOVE both of them!  Love the old cemeteries in both towns.  I can spend hours looking.  Check out the Trolley type tour companies where you can pay one price, see lots of things and get on and off whenever you want.  Totally worth it.  We also took a moonlight ghost tour in Charleston that was great.  If you want a faster overview, there are the horse drawn carriage tours.
My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
