Local 3-5k road races ?

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about  fall season of road races. I would like to start up again. I do run @ the gym but am interested in some local races. I am interested in anything in Southern NH.

Thanks a bunch !

Re: Local 3-5k road races ?

  • I would check out the Gate City Striders website (local running club) or Cool Running.  That's usually how I find races.  Last year I did the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women in Boston on Columbus day.  It was a great race, but not really what you're looking for.  I'm not in NH for the fall season, so I'm not too much help!  Sorry!
  • I use active.com to find local races.

I know in Bedford (Lurgio School) they are running a 5k on Oct 30th and you are supposed to wear a costume. I'm on the fence on this one because of the traffic situation, not that there is a lot of traffic at that time of day on those streets, but still.

Nashua has some at Mills Falls park - the trails there are really flat and wide, so it's not a big difference from street running.

  • Thank you ! I can't wait to check these out !

  • Hi,

I am a runner.  I can help direct you to some area 5Ks.  I just ran one this past Saturday in Dover.  I am running another one on 10/23 in Stratham. It is the Great Bay 5k.  YOu can find most all of the races on www.coolrunning.com .  I am running the annual Turkey Trot in Derry on Thanksgiving morning (huge race, great to participate in...then you don't feel so guilty about filling your tummy later in the day).  We run it every year, it is put on by the Greater Derry Track Club.

The next one (and last for 2010) is in Somerville, MA...the Jingle Bell Run.  That is on 12/19.

    Hope this helps!

     Lauren
