I saw an online posting in a professional forum for a job the other day, earlier this week, and sent an email asking if I should send in a resume, and if the person who posted could send me more information about the position. He said he wanted to see my resume so I sent it in, and haven't heard back since. His email asking to see my resume implied that we'd talk after he saw my resume, so I was expecting to hear from him within a day or two, but this was on Tuesday and it's Friday now and no news. I know I've got at least most, if not all, of the qualifications for this job.
Should I email him to make sure he got the resume okay (I'm on a mac and sometimes attachments don't work to PC), or should I let it be and just wait/ignore? What would you do? This job is in mental health.
Re: Checking on resume?
I feel your frustrations. Here is what you should do:
Hi.....
I wanted to follow up with you in regards to the _____ position with your company. I had sent my resume to you on _____ and I am very excited about this possible position. Please let me know if there is anything you may need from me. I appreciate your time and consideration.
Thanks,
I hope that helps or at least gets some ideas flowing. I think it's okay to follow up once but after that it's a dead lead
