NFL reduces Roethlisberger Suspension to 4 games

Goodell announced today the suspension was reduced from 6 games to 4 based on Roethlisberger adhering to some standards they had set.

I'm not happy they reduced the suspension, but I'm glad Goodell didn't reduce it to 3 games like the QB had requested.

Re: NFL reduces Roethlisberger Suspension to 4 games

  • I'm a Steeler fan and I couldn't agree more.

You should see the facebook comments. It's amazing how many people think that :

    1. Playing for the NFL is a basic human right of which BR is being deprived and therefore he is being treated like a "criminal"

    2. Favoring the suspension = believing a rape a occurred

    3. The NFL has no right to impose conduct standards.

    Edited:

    4. Favoring the suspension of ONE player means you cannot possibly be a Steelers fan.

Exactly. His conduct was unbecoming and embarassing to the League, regardless of a crime being committed. Plus, this isn't the first bit of "trouble" involving questionable judgement on his part.

We are facing something similar in NE with Spikes and his youtube "performance". People are debating what kind of punishment is warranted or if one is warranted. It's not criminal, but it's still embarassing to the league.  Plus it just shows that he's stupid (does he not think someday his theoretical 13 yr old daughter would not see/hear about it?) and who wants a stupid player?

  • I used to really like Rothlisberger when he was a rookie but like most pro athletes and celebs he thinks hes "untouchable".
