Hi ladies! I've never posted here before but this seemed like a good board to go to. My co-worker is having a traditional wedding in Vegas in October and my other co-workers and I are going to be throwing her a Vegas themed bridal shower. Does anyone have any recommendations for any websites or anything I can go to for inspiration or has anyone done something similar before? Also, any ideas for food to go along with the theme? We are having the shower at 2pm so we would just need snack/appetizer type foods. TIA!

Re: Vegas theme shower
Oh my gosh... how fun. Here are some random ideas:
1. Play movie "Viva Las Vegas" with Elvis and Bernadette Peters
2. Hire a Black Jack or Texas Hold 'Em dealer - or have someone in your group bring lots of cards and chips and keep score etc.
3. "Horse" Races - create your own OTB with numbers (I played this in the Catskills and was very fun - I can try to describe it in better detail for you - if you like).
4. REAL drinks - Martinis, Cosmopolitans
5. Those bead necklaces as favors - or decks of cards....
6. Re: food - fun stuff - I'm sure the other ladies will have better recipes for you...
Cheers!
I threw a Lucky in Love shower for my brother and his wife. I have some pictures of it in my bio. It was such a FUN shower! I wish that someone would throw one that I could attend and not host! We had some of my husband's friends volunteer to be card dealers and roulette dealers. As far as food, we had a lot of finger foods that people coul just graze on as they played.
The guests could "cash" in their chips in the end and bid on different gift baskets with their winnings. We had about 10-15 different baskets they could bid on.

Have a buffet... it is a Vegas classic after all.
Centerpieces could each be a replica of the different Vegas hotels.
It might be fun to have a cut out of Elvis to take pictures with.
I just threw one of my best friends a surprise Vegas themed 30th birthday. It was more of a house party though so I had 2 slot machines, 2 poker tables, casino signs everywhere, served a buffet, asked people to dress "Vegas-y", gave her a bunch of beads to wear, etc.
Have fun!
