Diva cup vs others?

Has anyone tried other brands?  Or more than one brand, for the sake of comparison?  Not sure how to choose between the Diva, Keeper, Moon, etc.  Any ideas?

Re: Diva cup vs others?

  • I believe all three of the ones you mentioned are pretty much the same (same size/shape).  Just don't go with the Instead cup--it's a whole different animal and far inferior (it's also not reusable).

  • I just bought the Diva because it's the easiest to find.

I can't get onto the blog, but google images gives me this:

But unless you know the shape of your vagina  (and how can you possibly guess that?), there's no real way to guess what the best fit for you would be.

  • I don't know about the others, but I just got the DivaCup and I love it!

I had a friend who used the Mooncup, and she liked it really well...But she did eventually switch to the Divacup and absolutely loved it because she said it was more comfortable.

I guess as canuck mentioned - you don't know the best fit, until you try them :-/

The exact opposite happened to me. I bought the Diva cup first, had a hard time with it and then switched over to the Moon cup (uk). The moon cup was a better fit and it was softer and therefor easier to insert.
  • Another difference to consider is that the Keeper is made out of rubber, where as the Diva Cup and Moon Cup are made out of medical grade silicon.  If you have any latex sensitivities/allergies you'd want to avoid the Keeper.
  • I've only used the divacup, because it was available locally.  I have a couple friends who have used both the divacup and the moon cup and both preferred the latter.

  • I have a Lady Cup. When I was first looking in to which cup I would buy, the Menstrual Cups community on livejournal http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/ was incredibly helpful. They have charts comparing lengths, widths, and overall shapes. I didn't even try the divacup, because it seemed way too long for my anatomy (I have a low cervix). HTH. :)
  • I used a Diva cup sporadically for a few years, but switched to a Lunette cup.  It's softer and has bigger holes, so less suction, and I'm more likely to use it since it fits me better.  It might take a little trial and error, but it's worth it.

    Here's a good comparison: http://community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups/648061.html

  • I plan on trying the Lunette... I liked the holes and that its softer and that its made in Finland, which is close to me and has good eco & health standards for the production.
