Getting Ready for Married Life

I've been divorced for a long time.  My kids are grown and in a few weeks, I'll be getting married.  I'm a bit nervous on how our daily life will be after we get back from our honeymoon and I move in.  Any comments on what I can expect and what I should do to make me feel at home?

  • I don't want you to think we are ignoring your post.  The honest part is that I believe the majority of us on this board are in their first marriages and are new to parenting.

My advice from my own perspective is expect the man to leave stuff around that you don't want him to or to not to always clean-up or do things the way you are used to.  You can try to teach him the error of his ways, but I find it easier to clean it up yourself or to redo something yourself as it will get done the way you want it.
