I just had mirena inserted and was wondering if your doctor said anything to you about using tampons. Did you start using tampons the day after insertion?
Re: mirena users
I have had two Mirenas and it takes a good bit of force to have them removed, trust me when I say you don't need to delicately remove a tampon because that itself will not be enough force to pull it out.
You can use tampons right away, it just disturbed your uterine lining, you don't have an open wound.

I was told to remove it slowly because when the strings are still new and haven't softened up yet, they are more likely to get caught on the tampon.
