Re: LaurenRachel
yeah..one of our club board knotties was diagnosed w/ cancer last october..right before our dec weddings. they scaled their ceremony way back to a simple ceremony w/ their parents. they were planning a bigger ceremony for this december once she was done w/ chemo.
she kind of disappeared from the boards around the time she was diagnosed and we had no idea anything was going on. so about feb. she comes back and tells us about the diagnosis and that she was fighting it.
she popped in all the time talking about this or that....she'd complain about how few channels they had in the hospital and ask what she could eat to gain weight quick (she was only 90 lb at the time and the dr was going to put in a feeding tube if she didn't gain) she was very non chalant about it and always so cheerful looking on the bright side. We really had no clue how bad it was because she had such a positive attitude.
Well last week, we realized she hadn't been on in a while and we were getting kind of worried. Her husband actually posted a day after that updating us on her. The tumor that was removed in her intestines had returned, but they were unable to perform surgery, as she was showing the 'end of her life cycle'. We've all been fervently praying for her since then. Her husband updated us a few times w/ good news actually. She was only expected to live a few hours or a day after the doc gave him that bad news last Monday. She made it over a week...
Her hubs came on yesterday to inform us that she passed yesterday morning at 6:30. She caught a bit of pneumonia during the night and her body just couldn't fight it off.
She turned 25 a few weeks ago. She died within a year of being diagnosed. We are all just heartbroken and can't believe she's gone. She was seriously the sweetest girl ever.......
Her husband has started a team for her on Stand Up 2 Cancer if anyone would like to donate.

I'm glad to know she's not suffering any longer.
