Boyfriend's 31st Birthday
My BF's 31st is on the 18th and my B-day is on the 21st. I want to do something for him, but I don't know what. We live in the Baltimore/DC area and we don't have a lot of money to spend (less than $100). Last year I threw him a surprise party with all his friends. I can't really do that this year because we live 10 hours away from all our friends and family. I was thinking of just going to dinner and maybe getting him a gift, but I don't know what to get him. He has a million t-shirts and video games so I don't want to get him any more. Does anyone have any ideas on places to go? I'm not too familiar with either city. Any ideas on gifts? He's into comic books and comedy.

What is his favorite comic? You might be able to go to a comic shop/antique store and find a 1st issue of it, then you could get a shadow box frame so he could hang it/take it out when he wants to read it instead.
I think a surprise party makes sense for a milestone birthday (30th), but it becomes over done if you do it every year, so I wouldn't think twice about not being able to do it.
Is there anything that you can do to make a memory? Such as going to a comedy club? Go-kart racing? Checking out a museum? In DC there are lots and lots of things to do and explore - I'd do a google search.
I thought about a comedy club, but everything is so expensive. If we did that it would be the only thing we could do. I think we'll end up going to a museum.
I don't know much about comic books. I keep getting his favorite comic book character mixed up. I think I'll check out our local comic book shop and see what they recommend.
