Garden

Okay this may say sound like an unintelligent question but I am new to gardening.  We planted strawberries, watermelon, green beans, tomatos, peas, bannana peppers, bell peppers, and jalepenos in our garden this year.  Does this stuff come back next year?  Do I need  to pull it up and start all over next summer?  I have tried to search the Internet but haven't found a definate answer.  We live in Atlanta if that helps.  I want to start a fall garden too, so any suggestions for veggies that grow int he fall would be great!

Re: Garden

  • I'm in TN... everything you listed except the strawberries need to be pulled up. Straweberries will come back.

I'm still getting everything you mentioned, so I'm not pulling anything up yet.

I did just plant some brocolli, red cabbage and swiss chard.

last month I planted peas and beets and lettuce.

  • I'm in the Atlanta area too and we've found this chart to be really handy

    Zone 7 Vegetable Chart

The chart shows when to start seeds, plant and when you can expect production until, although some plants may produce a little longer than the chart states if conditions stay favorable.

  • That chart is great! I'm in NE Georgia as well and am constantly asking a friend if it's okay to plant things yet (I'm a MD transplant).
  • Yes to the chart. Thanks for sharing blue_elle!
