Newspapers for schools?

Anybody know how I can get class sets of newspaper subscriptions for as close to free as possible?  I'm starting a journalism class - 3 sections with 30 kids each, and we can't really afford to buy that many subscriptions at reg price.  NY Times and the Trib will do e-papers for free, but I have limited access to computers.  Plus, I'd like the kids to be able to leaf through actual paper papers. Any ideas?

Re: Newspapers for schools?

  • I'm not sure how they do it, but my college got USA Today and RedEye for free for the entire campus. I'm not sure if both of those newspapers do some specials for schools, but that would definitely be worth checking out. :)
  • I would try contacting The Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald or The Sun Times Customer Service. Tell them that you?re a teacher and what you are looking for. I?m sure that they would be able to help you.
