shipping and handling (help needed)

Ok, ladies.  I am currently in the process of designing a weebly website for my craft stuff and need some assistants.  I am trying to figure out how to figure out what the shipping and handling should be? There is an option for people to purchase through the site with PayPal.  And I just need to figure out the shipping and handling.  Any suggestions?  How would you go about figuring that out?   TIA for all your help and ideas =)

  • Maybe you can use those boxes at the post office that are a set price? It doesn't matter how heavy they are or anything. You could price out a few and depending on how much someone orders, will depend on which box you use???

  • Like what Stacey said but maybe add a little more. I know when I ordered something from Ebay, it was like 5 bucks for shipping but it really was only 2.50.  Plus, if you are shipping fragile things would it cost more to make sure it doesnt break?

  • Yea, I was looking at those flat rate boxes, and i would assume you would include the cost of the packing supplies, like bubble wrap and those peanut things.  I guess i should just make a mock one up and take it to the post office and see what they say.  Do you think that would be a good idea?

  • Yeah, that would be cool to do. That way you know what it might be costing you.

  • You can buy a lil shipping scale, Jenn.  So you weigh each one & then decide what box you're going to use, then put the weight & dimensions right into the USPS website shipping calc.  That's what I did w/selling wedding stuff & it's usually pretty accurate.

  • were would buy something like that?

  • We've seen them at Sam's Club before & I'm pretty sure at Staples...maybe Wal-Mart, I'm not sure.  I don't think they're very expensive either.

  • Here's some on Amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/Digiweigh-52-Lb-Scale-Shipping/dp/B0014ZY4OI

Or Ebay would have some too, I'm sure.
