So it is 99% sure we are moving to the UES! We are so excited!
The last piece to the puzzle is finding parking for me. I will be doing a reverse commute each day to Rockland County.
The apartment has a garage, but the fee is $475 a month. While we "can" afford this, it makes my stomach turn.
Do you have any tips on how to get a lower price?
Re: Parking
The people I know on the UES either don't have cars or park on the street. One of best GF's lives near your area. She sometimes keeps her car at her parents in Westchester.
I wonder if it would be worth looking into parking at the MetroNorth station where you work. Take the train there, and then drive to work from the station. Might be far less than $475/month. On the weekends, you could always park on the street.
$475.00 sounds reasonable for the UES. I have a friend who lives on the UWS and he pays someone $75.00 a month to move his car on alternate side days, but since you're going to need to find a spot every day, I don't really see that as an option for you. Best of luck!
We have a car that is used daily and pay 200 a month and park it in a garage in Hoboken.
