Where to stay in the Dells w/ 2 y.o.?

Tentatively planning a family get away this fall to the Dells for one or two nights. Which hotel has a good indoor waterpark for a two year old? One with a kiddie area so she's not overrun by the older kiddos. TIA!

Re: Where to stay in the Dells w/ 2 y.o.?

  • I've always stayed at the Kalahari. I love it. Its a bit pricey though. I know a lot of people like the Wilderness or the Great Wolf. Have fun!!

  • We use to stay at the Kalahari (which we loved), but then tried the Great Wolf and found it more suitable for our toddler.  I felt GW had more water things our toddler could participate in.
  • The Kalahari has a very small indoor area for toddlers.  It is in the same area as the entrance to the wave pool so it can become congested with a lot of other people.  The Wilderness has 2 indoor waterparks with more areas for toddlers.  I don't have children but I believe the Great Wolf has the best areas for toddlers.  There is more for them to do there.  There is also a nightly bedtime story in the main lobby with talking characters that they might like.  I haven't seen Mt. Olympus (formerly Treasure Isle, and before that Family Land) in forever but I remember them having only a little bit for toddlers.
  • we liked the chula vista hotel overall. But i suggest going to a smaller hotel with a pool pointed more for younger children. (i find that when we went to the dells we went to some of the bigger hotels and my DD got frightened by the crowds, nosie, dump buckets, not to forget that i was a nervous that my DD was going to get lost, get into deeper water, etc.) so my suggestions are grand marquis, copa cabana, polyensin, etc GL and have fun!!!!

  • I loved The Wilderness.  We've been there 2 times, once when dd was 17 months and the 2nd time was when she was 2 and she loved it both times.  They have 4 large indoor waterparks and are all accessable from inside.  It was a blast!
