Honeydew- firefly lane Possible spoilers
I remembered you had said you loved the book so put it on my list to read. A lot of the book really hit home for me. My father and stepmother let me run away and didn't want me back so I moved in with my best friend's family like Tully did. My mom died when I was ten so when it was talking about Kate sitting with Marah it reminded me of those times. One of my best friends from college died from Leukemia about three years ago and my other best friend and I went to spend one last day with her remembering all our fun times, listening to all our favorite songs so that was all I was thinking about towards the end with Kate and Tully. I couldn't stop crying for awhile after I finished it. It is definitely one of my favorite books I've ever read. Wow that was a long post, but I like to talk about books after I finish.

Wow...I am sorry for your losses. I had no idea. I am glad you connected so well with the book though. I started it with a somewhat skeptical attitude since it was similar to Summer Sisters (one of my all time faves), but I ended up loving this book so much more.
I thought the way the author painted the girls friendship was so real, even the jealousy and insecurity. I also always wondered if Kate's husband liked Tully more than just that one night, ya know? I connected a bit more with Tully in terms of personality, but not life experiences. I found myself frustrated with Kate at times, but I loved how both girls were so realistic.
Is Marah Kate's daughter? My memory is a bit fuzzy since I read it in June. I am wondering your opinion, why do you think Tully could never give herself in a relationship with anyone but Kate?
PS: I love, love, love talking about books too!
